Starting off our list with the woman that made us love soggy bottoms, the legendary Mary Berry hailed from the county of Somerset. The British food writer was born in Bath, Somerset, in 1935 before moving to France when she reached the age of 21.
Jenson Button
Back in 1980, Jenson Button was born. Jenson is a famous British racing driver and was once a formula one World Champion driver. His origin started in Frome, Somerset and since then, he has come a long way. Now he competes in the Japanese Super GT series and is continuously looking for a new challenge.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes
This English explorer was born in Windsor, Berkshire, back in 1944. In 1970 Fiennes married his childhood love and they ran a country farm estate in Somerset, the farm itself was home to sheep and cattle. His wife built up the farm while he was away exploring the world.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes has established himself as a holder of different endurance records. He also has titles such as poet, co-creator and writer under his belt.
Maisie Williams
The woman known for her role in Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, cyberbully and more, grew up in Clutton, Somerset. Maisie attended primary school in Midsomer Norton and then studied performing arts at the Bath Dance College.
Jacqueline Wilson
Dame Jacqueline Wilson captured our hearts, brought a smile to our faces, and is now one of the most beloved authors. The characters she has created influenced so many children, and her words will continue to do that for years to come. We like to believe that some of the stories started while she was growing up in Bath, Somerset.
