Victoria Art Gallery
If the weather is disappointing but you want to spend the day out somewhere, the Victoria Art Gallery is perfect if you’re an art enthusiast. There are over 1500 pieces of unique artworks dating back as far as the 15th century. Alongside these collections, the Victoria Art Gallery also has a unique programme of temporary exhibits and events throughout the Summer. As well as browsing around the gallery it has its own shop too stocking a selection of gifts, cards and books as well as contemporary exhibits. Brean Leisure Park
This is definitely one for the kids. For families Brean offers a fun packed day featuring entertainment venues, live shows from C-ITV and meet and greets with some of their favourite TV characters, not to mention the rollercoasters and crazy golf! There’s something for the whole family, with so much to see and do the only difficult part will be deciding how to fit everything in.
Cheddar Gorge
Another one for the kids to keep them occupied during the long summer break is a visit to Cheddar Gorge where they can participate in prehistoric dressing up, clay thumb pot making and so much more. Cheddar Gorge as the name implies, also has a shop with a selection of cheese – making this a must visit for the cheese enthusiast. With its rich history and a set of beautiful cavern systems – If it’s fun, excitement and cave exploration you are after, this is the perfect place.
Beatrix Potter Tales at Wraxhall
An event for the little ones, this event is held throughout August and encourages tots to discover the magical world of Beatrix Potter. Their little faces will light up with the wonderful storytelling, face painting, games and crafts to fill their day. There is so much to see and do if you plan to spend a day, a long weekend or even longer in Somerset.
